Suncoast Reef and Beach Cleanup

Every year, Suncoast Aqua Ventures sponsors a Reef and Beach Cleanup.  This is a 2-day event that has teams compete for how many pounds of trash they remove from the sea and the beach.  You can walk the coastline or SCUBA dive.  There are several sub-categories (metals, trash, tires, rope, anchors) and there are prizes for the winning teams.  This year’s event takes place on October 1&2.

Last year, we put together a small (5 of us) team – The Terra Ceia SCUBA Scavengers.  We are planning on doing it again this year but would like to add as many of our fellow islanders to the team as possible.
